Urban Flood Rescue Technician prepares responders for the unique hazards associated with flooding in built environments.
Urban flood incidents may involve moving water, submerged infrastructure, vehicles, electrical hazards, open utility access points, contaminated water, damaged buildings, underground spaces, and limited visibility.
Students develop skills in flood hazard assessment, scene zoning, safe access, casualty movement, vehicle-related rescue considerations, shallow-water operations, contaminated-water awareness, and coordinated team deployment.
