Course description
Aquatic Rescue Technician – Level 3 is the advanced operational level of the AERI Aquatic Rescue Technician pathway.
The course prepares rescuers to operate in swiftwater and complex high-energy environments where hydraulic features, strong currents, entrapment hazards, strainers, limited access, and rapidly changing conditions significantly increase operational risk.
Training includes advanced water reading, defensive and offensive swimming, technical access, downstream protection, rope-assisted rescue systems, entrapment management, casualty recovery, and coordinated team operations.
The course emphasizes disciplined risk management and the ability to select appropriate rescue methods in demanding and dynamic water environments.
