Course description
Aquatic Rescue Technician – Level 2 develops the skills required to operate in moving-water environments where current becomes a significant factor in rescue planning and execution.
Students learn to recognize moving-water hazards, understand basic water dynamics, select safe entry and exit points, perform defensive and offensive swimming techniques, use ferry angles, establish downstream safety, and participate in rope-assisted rescue operations.
The course emphasizes personal survival, team coordination, dynamic risk assessment, casualty access, and controlled movement through moderate-current environments.
ART Level 2 builds upon Level 1 competencies and prepares responders for more advanced swiftwater operations.
