Course description
Aquatic Rescue Technician – Level 1 introduces the fundamental knowledge and practical skills required to operate safely in still and low-flow water environments.
The course develops essential competencies in aquatic hazard recognition, personal protective equipment, self-rescue, shore-based rescue, throw-bag techniques, basic swimming approaches, casualty contact and control, and team-based rescue procedures.
Training is designed for responders who may operate around lakes, reservoirs, pools, ponds, canals, calm inland waters, and other environments where current has limited influence on rescue operations.
This course establishes the foundation for progression into moving-water and swiftwater rescue training within the AERI Aquatic Rescue Technician pathway.
